why pokémon tcg?
Pokémon TCG can evoke a sense of nostalgia and bring back happy memories. Pokémon TCG are also collectible items and they enjoy the thrill of collecting.
Pokémon has always been incorporating cultures into their creature and world designing, so it would be a good idea to introduce the audience to an unknown and hidden culture.
Millenials ~25 - 30 years old, who grew up with Pokémon during their childhood, and would be able to afford the product.
target audience
Mockup for the Packaging and Custom Trading Cards
The packaging features a Peranakan house and one of the Pokémon we designed with contrasting colours. Peranakan tiles also decorate the behind of the packaging to further enhance the beauty of the culture.
*The packaging and trading card designs were inspired by the Pokémon Trading Card Game Scarlet Violet: Paradox Rift set.
The trading cards come in an A5 booklet that introduces the reader to the Pokémons and the Peranakan culture, emphasising on the connections between the two.
marketing
Setting up a booth at an anime convention that is very frequently held would promote the project very well as a good portion of the attendees would be Pokémon fans.
*Suntec City Convention Centre hall 403 , where most anime/game conventions in Singapore are held.

She was a core member in our group, and an OG before we merged with another group in week 7. She does not know much about Pokémon, but was keen to work with us and our plans. She was responsible for the packaging background and some of the trading cards' backgrounds.
